Meet our brand-new line of institutional services
We are thrilled to announce our services for organizations, the Custom Services! The Custom Services enable you to embed Open Knowledge Maps services in your own discovery systems and provide attractive, visual entry points to your holdings. Our services can be used to complement existing discovery systems or to make the contents of a specific collection more visible.
What do they offer? The Custom Services can be integrated with library catalogues, research data management systems, or other digital services - e.g. news pages or current research information systems (CRIS). In a nutshell, our Custom Services provide:
- Higher visibility and discoverability of your organization’s research output,
- Enhanced institutional discovery options with visual components, and
- An intuitive search experience that helps attract new audiences and users.
How do they work? The Custom Services are developed as cloud components. Their implementation requires only little resources on your side. You can set individual parameters, including the ability to restrict knowledge maps to your own data sources.
For more information and real-life use cases developed together with ETH Zurich and TU Wien, please see our presentation.
How much do they cost? As everything created by Open Knowledge Maps the Custom Services are provided as an open infrastructure! There are no license fees and no lock-in effects.
To sustain this community-owned and community-driven infrastructure, the development of all of our services is funded in a collective effort. By becoming a supporting member, research organisations and libraries are invited to co-create the platform with us.
